Homemade granola
This week has been a movement in social networks where everyone showed their homemade granola. We have joined the challenge and we have created our homemade granola or muesli, nothing to do with the one we buy, which usually comes prepared with poor quality fats and some other undesirable ingredient. And how it is so easy to prepare, best homemade and to the taste of each house, ¿no?
Let the recipe!
INGREDIENTS
- 360g oatmeal in fine flakes
- 50g Avellanas
- 50g Pumpkin seeds
- 50g Peanuts (without salt)
- 50g Almonds
- 70g Red quinoa (can be any variety)
- 100g Virgin coconut oil
- 130g Honey
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
Note: You can vary the dry ingredients to taste, for example you can exchange fruits as you like.
Granola PREPARATION
- We cook the quinoa, this is prepared in the same way as rice. 2 of water 1 quinoa. When you see that the white anilines begin to come out around the grain, it is ready. We drain them and reserve.
- The nuts we crush them with a mortar or with a knife we cut them a little, although this step is optional, maybe you prefer them whole, so you can do it to your liking.
- We mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl together with the quinoa.
- On the other hand, let's mix the coconut oil (if it's solid, give it a little heat so that it becomes liquid), Honey, cinnamon and vanilla. We stir so that everything is well linked and pour over the dry ingredients that we have in the bowl.
- We mix everything well and stretch on a baking tray.
- With the oven preheated to 170º, introduce the tray for about 30 minutes. And we are removing each 10 minutes, more or less, so they are toasted on all sides.
- You will see that they are ready when they start to take that tan color. We take out of the oven and let it cool.
- So far we already have our granola ready for any moment, but if we want we can add dried fruits, grated coconut, raisins… what you like the most.
