Caramelized onion jam
This caramelized onion jam is prepared in a pas pis and more nutritious than any we can buy in a supermarket.
Caramelized onion jam INGREDIENTS
- 1 large onion cut into julienne
- 1 Trickle of AOVE (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/2 Cup of water
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
PREPARATION
- In a pan put a drop of AOVE to heat to medium-high.
- When hot we put the onion and went down to medium heat and put a lid on the pan to be poche and leave until we see the onion is blandita.
- At that time we add sugar and salt, stir to mix well with the whole onion and let a couple of minutes.
- Add water and chia and left for 3-4 minutes fire.
- Remove and store in a jar. Let cool and store it in the fridge.
