Corn homemade popcorn
Sweet or salt?. As we did not know what we decide we made a version of sweet popcorn with honey dates and other salted with grated parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast powder suitable for vegans (and non-vegan, Of course).
We also have very good news for allergy to nuts people. We know it's not easy to find free popcorn corn traces on the market, but the big news is that our popcorn does not contain traces of nuts, so if you are someone who was looking like crazy free corn traces, here it is!. If you do not find at your local supermarket, you can ask.
And now if, We go with the recipe!
INGREDIENTS for popcorn
- Corn popcorn
- 1 drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
PREPARATION Popcorn
- Put the pan over high heat and take a little oil.
- When the oil is already hot (before it starts to smoke) corn toss. The amount will depend on how large the surface of the pan, the idea is to cover (or a little less) the base of the pan.
- And an important step, put cap, otherwise we will end up with the kitchen full of popcorn everywhere 😉
- When they start to skip the first corn kernels, We are turning down the heat in half and let the pan stirring occasionally to mix the beans and all are made equal.
- And ready!, for now we have a totally healthy homemade popcorn.
Note 1: The time also depends on the amount, but in a few minutes since the start popping should be made.
Note 2: When we see that almost no jump but there are still some grains, we can remove the fire and let it finish do with the waste heat.
Note 3: Do not lift the lid until after a while because, even outside the fire, will jump some.
Ingredients for sweet popcorn: Date honey
- 250g pitted dates
- 280g water
Preparation of sweet popcorn
- Crush dates and water at maximum speed until a homogeneous mixture. Approximately 1 minute.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- In a bowl, where we popcorn, We put a few tablespoons (this will be approximately as the amount of popcorn) Honey dates we have prepared. Mix well all.
- In a baking tray, We stretch oven paper and put popcorn stretched on the tray.
- We put in the oven, a 180º, for about 5-10 minutes about.
- And to enjoy READY!
Note 4: If you do not have oven you can put them in a pan, a medium-high, and go removing them to prevent burning.
Ingredients for salty popcorn
- Grated Parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast powder.
Preparation of salty popcorn
- Once we have the bowl with freshly made popcorn, sprinkle over cheese or nutritional yeast and mix well.
